Firefox and Thunderbird have been updated... yet again. 1.0.6 for both. Check out my latest "chat" about what "reaching out" really means (and why we suck at it).

Somebody circle the calendar. For the first time in my entire life I am going to recommend a free application... from .... .... Microsoft. YIPES! Yes, I feel dirty but this freebie is worth the shame. A really nice slide show creator that does that coolish picture animation that doesn't make people dizzy (like powerpointers). Get it here (you'll need to the the silly authentication thing...sorry).

OK. So podcasting is really really new at this point... but bear with me. It's cool and, if you do any long boring things (like commute, jog, excercise, golf by yourself, sleep) you will want to maximize your time. So, download a sermon from http://combap.ca and enjoy!

My fave TV show (well, since I got cable that is) is Call For Help which was actually gone for a while when the evil folks at G4TechTV in the USofA killed it. So, the good folks at G4TechTV Canada are bringing him up to tape shows! Click here for the show info!

So podcasting is kinda cool. Mind you, I will never own an ipod (there's no way I could afford one...ever) I still am catching on to the wave! For those of us who can't be bothered to read... or have to do things like drive where reading is somewhat more difficult...getting our fave audio without needing to tune in to radio ain't a bad idea.

Of course, many of my sermons are available from at Community Baptist's website. Click here.

Saturday mornings on CBC used to rock (Jackie Parr, Basic Black) but at least there is still Quirks and Quarks... and they have a podcast! Click here!

Brian McLaren's church (Cedar Ridge Community) does podcasts... see them here.

Happy listening!

...and, wow, Firefox voted best application of the year! And a close second is my favorite webmail.. Gmail! WoW!
It's not a labour of love... it's just labour! But, hey, there's always some neato stuff to talk about! Firstly, yes, Firefox in continuing it's domination of the nation! More and more are using it now and finding relief from what ails them.

What's sorta new and cool is podcasting. Now, I don't own an ipod.. nor any decent mp3 player, but it's still cool! I've set up our church website to link you to podcasts!
What is really handy (for those running their own webservers with PHP) tool called dircaster for getting the proper xml page for ipodder to recognize.

Internet telephones have been a pipedream for a long time. Poor sound quality, glitchy controls and bugs everywhere. However, SKYPE might have got it figured out! Free computer to computer calls anywhere (broadband).

Yahoo has a couple good free services that may be of a big help. Firstly the Yahoo Calendar now has the ability to share and sync with your PDA. (I've testing with Palm and, so far, it seems promising). You can allow others to view and/or edit the info.

Yahoo is also offering a way to upload and share photos online.

Also, Yahoo's email is, apparently, going to match Google's 1 gig of email space. Don't you just love competition!

I don't got none
More and more misuses of the double negative are coming back to me now.
I can't not take it no more!

I Don't Know Nothing!
OK. Are there no others out there that are getting fed up with people saying double negative statements! It's an epidemic! "I didn't see no one" or "I didn't get nothing"? When will it stop! STAND UP AND FIGHT IT TODAY! Become the irritating jerk who corrects anyone and everyone who uses phrases like this (unless they are doing it on purpose...of course!). :-)

Fight the machine!

For those of you with tons of photos languishing on your hard drive there is a new app from Google that looks pretty promising. Note: I wouldn't install this an any computer slower that 1.3 ghz. It looks and runs very OS X ish. Check out Picasa

And, while I'm on software, my vote for best desktop search application (free) goes to Yahoo's new beta version. It plays nice with Wordperfect Office apps and has superior document previewing. It doesn't integrate with Mozilla/Thunderbird yet.... which is a negative.
